Product Buyer Story & Fit

Connecting product value to buyer confidence.

Where I Help

Where I Help SaaS Teams

Strong software needs a clear story, a focused launch plan, and tools that help buyers make decisions. I support SaaS teams facing challenges such as:

  • Product messaging that emphasizes features instead of customer value.
  • Unclear differentiation in a crowded software category.
  • Launches that lack coordinated execution.
  • Sales teams that need stronger narratives and objection handling.
  • Customer communication that does not clearly explain adoption or expansion opportunities.

Selected Work

Engagements

Three engagements showing how I approach positioning, launches, and sales enablement for SaaS teams.

Positioning and Messaging Confidential SaaS Client

Turning a feature list into a reason to choose

Challenge

The platform's messaging emphasized task management, dashboards, and integrations without explaining why buyers should choose it over competing tools. Team leaders and operations buyers struggled to connect those features to their specific business needs.

My Contribution

For this engagement, I owned the positioning framework, core messaging, homepage copy, and persona specific value propositions.

Approach

I mapped buyer pain points against competitive alternatives and product capabilities. I developed a narrative centered on helping teams coordinate work, clarify ownership, and maintain visibility without relying on scattered tools.

Deliverables

  • Messaging framework defining the target audience, buyer problems, differentiation, and supporting proof points.
  • Homepage copy translating product capabilities into clear benefits and calls to action.
  • Persona specific value propositions addressing team leaders' coordination needs and operations buyers' visibility requirements.

Outcome

The exercise produced a unified messaging system connecting product capabilities to buyer needs across website and sales materials. No client feedback or performance results are claimed. Validation would require buyer testing and post launch measurement.

Feature Launch Confidential SaaS Client

Launching a workflow automation feature

Challenge

The company was preparing to launch a workflow automation feature for operations managers and team leaders. It needed to explain how the feature reduced repetitive coordination work and give existing customers a clear reason to adopt it.

My Contribution

For this engagement, I owned launch planning, feature positioning, announcement content, and sales enablement. I coordinated with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to align the narrative and prepare customer facing teams.

Approach

I aligned the target audience, product narrative, launch assets, and internal readiness around a shared objective: helping customers understand the feature's value and take the next step toward adoption.

Deliverables

  • Launch brief defining the audience, value proposition, responsibilities, and rollout sequence.
  • Announcement content covering email, in app messaging, and a feature landing page.
  • Sales assets including a feature overview, demo narrative, and objection handling FAQ.
  • Measurement plan tracking announcement engagement, feature activation, repeat usage, and customer feedback.

Outcome

The exercise produced a coordinated launch package with consistent messaging, defined responsibilities, and an adoption measurement plan. No verified client outcomes are available. Adoption or engagement results should be added only when supported by actual data.

Sales Enablement and Competitive Positioning Confidential SaaS Client

Answering "We already have a tool that does this"

Challenge

Sales representatives repeatedly encountered the objection, "We already have a tool that does this." Inconsistent pitches focused on features rather than explaining the platform's differentiated value or addressing the buyer's reasons for staying with an existing solution.

My Contribution

For this engagement, I reviewed sales conversations, researched competing solutions, and developed a unified pitch narrative. I created sales enablement materials and a training session covering discovery questions, differentiation, and objection handling.

Approach

I translated buyer questions and competitive insights into a clearer value narrative. I organized guidance around buyer priorities, helping sellers identify where the platform was a strong fit without overstating its capabilities or competitors' limitations.

Deliverables

  • Pitch deck connecting buyer challenges to relevant capabilities, business benefits, and supporting evidence.
  • Competitive battlecard outlining alternatives, differentiated strengths, discovery questions, and fit considerations.
  • Objection handling guide addressing switching concerns, overlapping functionality, implementation effort, and pricing.
  • Sales training session demonstrating how to apply the materials in discovery and competitive conversations.

Outcome

The exercise produced a consistent sales narrative and practical tools for addressing recurring objections. No verified seller feedback, asset usage, or sales performance results are available. Those should be added only when supported by actual engagement evidence.
